Mike was born in the Bronx, on February 9, 1941 to Michael and Margaret O’Connor. He grew up in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx and attended St. John’s Grammar School and All Hallows High School. He enlisted in the Army National Guard on April 18, 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1964. He graduated the New York City Police Academy in December, 1965 and retired as a homicide detective with several commendations in 1987.
Growing up, he visited cherished family in Ireland during the summer, and as a teen, spent his summers at Rockaway Beach. Later in life, he took his family to Maine every summer for 37 years. These were his favorite places.
He is survived by his wife Agnes of 49 years; his three daughters, Denise Dudzic, and her husband, Jeff, Elizabeth O’Connor, and her husband, Dave Coleman, and Michelle O’Connor; grandchildren Ryan, Erin, and Oonagh; as well as many loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 15th, from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd, Montrose, NY 10548. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16th at St. Columbanus Church, 122 Oregon Rd, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567
