Reginald accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He attended Morningside high school where he graduated with honors. He then proceeded on to the Marines. After the Marine's, Reginald got a full time job at the airport. As time passed, he started working at the Unified School District where he met his wife Addie Lee Bland who preceded him in death. They had two children; Reginald Bland Jr and Angela Bland; and stepchildren, Frances, Frederick, Elzy, Mary, Deshawn, Natasha, and Roshell. Reginald changed job careers and got hired at Kaiser Permanente as a housekeeper and retired August 21, 2024 after serving 35 years.
Reginald was a hardworking man and would go out of his way to help people in any way he can. He would give advice and was very outspoken. He loved exercising, taking walks at Griffith Park, and going to the beach. He also loved watching sports in his spare time. His favorite team was the 49ers. "Bang Bang Niner Gang" was his favorite thing to say. He always knew how to make people laugh even during the hard times and always made it clear that God will make a way and to stop stressing and count your blessings. Everything will be okay.
Reginald was a strong man until he took his last breath. March 2, 2025 he was called home to be with the Lord. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. In the words of Reginald "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart."
Reginald taught us the meaning of strength, perseverance, and family. He will be truly missed. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
Reginald leaves behind his father Roger Bland, his children Reginald Bland Jr., and Angela Bland, his granddaughter Leyah Bellamy, sister Yvette Andrews, stepchildren, nieces, and friends.
Until we meet again.
