I don't know how long it will take me to grieve this tremendous loss. I do cherish all the time spent with him from my childhood in Germany to my adult life. Always in my heart Dad, although it is hurting right now. ❤️‍🩹

Dad and Pearlie were always the most gracious hosts whenever we visited. Especially considering I’d visit with an entourage of 5 or 6 people….. we always felt at home and welcome. Just wonderful priceless memories!

As I reflected at the end of grandpa’s service a verse came to mind

“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors…” Acts 13:36

Like David so too did grandpa.

At the end of service, I rested my hand on the casket, a song came in my head 

“You’ve got a friend in me” (from Toy Story) 

Some may know it. If you don’t, I’d listen and hear encouragement for this season of grief. 

It was a comfort to me.

Pops loved him some Rio and Rio sure loved his grandpa. 

Pops was always by my side, he always supported me and did his best to guide me in the right direction. He was always more than a father figure he was literally my best friend. I’ll forever keep him and every lesson he taught me in my heart. This isn’t goodbye it’s I’ll see you later Pops. 💜

There was never a dull moment having uncle RL around. This picture we surprised him with pictures that we had taken at my mother's funeral services, uncle RL's older sister. Uncle RL was shocked & very happy for the gifts. We never forget those happy times with uncle RL & the family. 

Those are the gifts Dwan & I surprised uncle RL with.  This was a fabulous time with uncle RL & some of the family members. Dinner was great, laughter was plenty, & love was all over everyone. 

We enjoyed your company as always uncle RL .  We're going to miss your sense of humor & laughter. Uncle RL you will be missed dearly but never forgotten. We will keep the remembrance of you in our hearts forever.   From your nephew Anthony Taylor.

The best grandpa anyone could have.. I love you forever and always. My best friend. My comedian. My “I will do anything in my power to help”. I can’t believe you’re not here. I can’t believe I can’t just call you and hear you goof around. It doesn’t feel real still.

Although it hurts to know you are not here anymore, I can’t help but smile at all the memories we had. Till we meet again Dad I love you !

Wow...this is extremely hard. I’m trying my best to return to my usual life, but it appears to be really tough without you. Miss you Dad! You will forever stay in my heart. Keeping you and our family in my prayers.

Family as we grieve,  I am reminded that the void Dad's passing has left in our lives can’t be filled with anything other than the Love of Christ. But we must try hard to be strong again so that Dad can be proud of us. Cherish those precious memories, may that give us some comfort!!
