William Edward Baumann

William was born to Edward and Marvel Baumann in Valley City, North Dakota on February 21, 1947. Bill grew up in Valley City graduating from high school where he was active in the high school band serving as president as a senior and the Letterman’s Club after lettering in football. Bill was active in the Boy Scouts of America gaining the rank of Eagle and being selected as a Vigilance Member of the Order of the Arrow. The Baumanns’ moved to Minot when his Dad was offered a position managing the Minot Elks Lodge. Bill graduated from Saint Francis School of Nursing in 1969. He met and married Suzanne Renee’ Charlebois in August of 1968, they had 2 great children, William R. and Sarah E. and a grandson , Keegan and granddaughter Kennedi.

Bill was Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF in 1970 and the family began their 20 year military career serving in Texas, Michigan, California, Turkey, Ohio and finishing with a 5 year tour of duty at March AFB, Ca. Bill spent his military career in operating room nursing management retiring in January 1990 as a Major and receiving his 3rd Meritorious Service Medal

Bill truly enjoyed managing surgical suite operations accepting director positions at Rabkin Eye Institute, Rancho Springs Medical Center, Desert Springs Medical Center, San Gorgonio Medical Center and Parkview Community Medical Center over the last 24 years of his civilian career.

Bill retired in February 2014, He asked what he needed from his family and they were always there for him. He tried to provide the best for them and thanks to Suzanne, his loving wife and mother of their children always maintained a home where family and friends were always welcome.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held.

A memorial service for William will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Miller-Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92553. Following the memorial service will be a graveside service from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
