Add Crosby Jr.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Good Hope Baptist Church 908 Washington Street Patterson, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Ibert's Cemetery in Patterson, Louisiana.

Add “Cuff” Crosby, Jr. was born in Grand Cane, Louisiana on February 9. 1938, to the late Mariah “Marie” Smith and Add Crosby, Sr. Add confessed his life to Christ at the early age in Grand Cane. He later united with Zion Chapel AME church in Patterson, Louisiana. Add enjoyed fishing, baking, gardening, and being with family. Add was always the life of the party and a good joker.

Add later moved to Patterson, Louisiana where he married his lovely wife, Mary Crosby, on February 6, 1993.

Add leaves to cherish his many memories of seven sons, Erving Crosby (Lisa) of Bosier City, LA, Larry Crosby (Merline) of New Iberia, LA, James “Boss” Crosby of Franklin, LA, George Dewey III (Kathy) of Rockledge, FL, Darrell Dewey, Sr. (Anita) and Ray Dewey, Sr. (LaRhonda) both of Patterson, LA, and Marvin Dewey, Sr. (Latoya) of Zachery, LA; four daughters, Gussie Boyd (Andre) of Shreveport, LA, Alma Oliver (Joe) of Grand Marais, Rosa Crosby of Franklin, LA, and Lisa Chambliss (Robert) of Patterson, LA; a stepchild, Kevin Kinchen; four godchildren, Ka’lon Montgomery (Aberison), A’daisha Bolden, Don’Tre Nicholas, and Marques Pierre; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends; six best friends, Ernest Ray, Lester Chapman, Christopher Benjamin, Leon “White Owl” Benjamin, Rodney Matt, and Gary Trimm. Add also leaves behind two special devoted grandchildren, Jo’Lynn Pierre (Marquel) of Geismar, Louisiana and Antoine Prince (Francine) of Franklin, LA.

He was proceded in death by his parents, Mariah “Marie” Smith and Add Crosby, Sr.; his stepmother, Irma Lou Crosby; his stepfather, Gene Smith; a son, Add Crosby III; three grandsons, Anthony Crosby, Derek Olivier, and George Dewey IV.
