I could fill pages with memories of good times spent with Sal and Carol. They have always been so open and friendly to my wife and me. Some of Sal's stories from times before I knew him are absolutely fascinating to me. Sal is probably the most interesting guy I ever met. But beyond that, he always showed himself to be a good friend to me by keeping in touch over the years when I got “too busy” to keep in touch with him. Sal could be a colorful character at times, as anyone who knew him would attest to, and I loved that about him as much as I loved his generous side. 
I knew that someday I would be sitting here wishing I had spent even more time with him, but for now, I will truly miss Sal and pray that I will spend many more times with him again in the future.

so many memories with you. but i do remember when we went to the motel in Oregon and went river rafting down the rapids. That trip was a blast. all the times we slept over at your house all the cousins camped out on the floor in sleeping bags. we have so many good memories. I will miss you

Dear Uncle Sal, our many memories of you we will hold forever.  Your forward style (speaking to anyone at anytime about everything) made us laugh and sometimes shake our head.  You always said what was on your mind and we admired you for that.  Your dedication to family and love for Auntie Carol was an inspiration.  Our trip in 1989 to Germany is still fresh in my mind.  How you were baffled that no restaurant gave ice water and how you would go to the kitchen to help yourself as no-one understood what you were requesting. And of course you loved the autobahn where you could truly drive as fast as you wished. I know you are at peace and probably catching up with the many friends and family members that passed before you.  Thank you for being such a special Uncle and touching our lives.  We are so blessed to have known you and shared so many good times with you.  Love, Mike, Joanne, Jenna and Derek.
