Brenda "Ray" Joyce Whisenant

Along with her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Whisenant; a step- daughter, Patty Gantt; three brothers, Billy Whisenant, Junior Ray and her twin Jimmy Ray.

Brenda was a kind a loving person. She will be missed.

Those left behind to cherish Brenda's memory include three daughters, Hope Whisenant of the home, Shirley Whisenant and her husband Rodney Lewis of Morganton, and Windy Whisenant of Morganton; five brothers, Bob Ray of Hildebran, Leroy Ray of Morganton, Mack-Allen Ray of Morganton, Mike Ray of Marion and Amos Ray of South Carolina; a sister, Lisa Massagee of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton. A Celebration of Brenda's Life will follow with Pastor Dustin Peterson and Deacon Michael Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 4, 2023 in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion.
