David Todd Schoenen

David was born in New York on March 29, 1969 to Mary Lou Barber and the late C.A. Schoenen. He was of Catholic Faith and was a self-employed guttering and siding installer. David was a soft spoken gentle-giant who loved playing baseball. He was an avid coin collector and an animal enthusiast. He especially loved his dogs. David was full of love and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Anthony Schoenen.

Survivors include his fiancé and companion of six years, Michelle Christenbury, and her children, Jacob Christenbury and Hannah Yoder, all of Marion; his mother, Mary Lou Sparks and step-father, Bill Sparks; two brothers, Steven Schoenen & wife Teresa and Mike Schoenen & wife Susie; a sister, Shari LaFevers & husband Herman; three nephews, Steven Schoenen II, Josh Schoenen, and Allen Schoenen & wife Maggie; three nieces, Heidi Lail & husband Tim, Katelyn Newton & husband Chris, and Heather LaFevers; and a great-nephew, Erick Lail, all of Morganton.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.kirkseymorganton.com.
