Ella was born the daughter of the late Daniel Dockery and Leonia Stines Dockery on July 3, 1930 in Burke County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Ella will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Ella is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Andrew Spencer; three brothers, Wayne, Erastus and Carl “Big Boy” Dockery; and a sister, Pearl Reese.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include a daughter, Barbara Jean Williams; and two grandchildren, Tessa Deel and Domonic Williams, all of Morganton. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church on Jamestown Rd. Reverend Rocky Reese will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
