Mr. James R. Carswell, age 71, of Glen Alpine, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born August 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Ben Carswell and Allie Bell Allman. Mr.Carswell was a retired Construction worker and of the Baptist faith.
He will lovingly be remembered by three brothers, Calvin Carswell of Glen Alpine, William Carswell of Glen Alpine and Paul Whisnant and his wife Sylvia of Valdese. One sister, Virginia Glazebrook of Glen Alpine.
Funeral service for James will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel, Morganton with Rev. Leonard Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Alpine Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. Carswell..
