Margaret "Tootsie" Whittington Church

Mrs. Margaret “Tootsie” Whittington Church, 74, of Morganton, passed away, Tuesday, June 28, 2011, while at her residence. Born August 27, 1936, in Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Stella Whittington. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Church was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy D. Church and a son, Gary Whittington. Mrs. Church was a member of the Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church, Morganton.

Mrs. Church is survived by a son, Larry Whittington & wife Lila, of Morganton;

A daughter, Robin Church, of Morganton;

A brother, Tate Whittington, of Roan Mountain, TN;

A sister, Jackie Snyder, of Spruce Pine, NC;

A special friend, Brenda Williamson, of Morganton;

Four grandchildren, Sarah & Waylon Whittington, April Gladden and Christopher Boone;

Two great grandchildren, Wayne Whittington and Lucy Gladden and several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Church will be held 2:00PM, Friday, July 1, 2011, at the Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Ken Milam officiating. Interment will follow at the Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Church.
