Mildred Elizabeth Goins

She was born to the late Clifford Lee Wilson and Bertha Hall Halford Wilson in McDowell Co. North Carolina.

Mildred was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Powder Mill Baptist Church of Avery Co., and attended Lynn Valley Baptist Church of Elizabethton, Tn.

Anyone who knew Mildred knew she loved dancing, music, and playing her guitar. Mildred loved exercising with her group sliver sneakers of Spruce Pine. Before retirement, she worked in apparel at Levi, South Eastern, and retail sales at Walmart.

In addition to her parents, her son Michael D. Adams preceded Mildred in death along with her brothers Floyd and Ray Wilson.

Those left to cherish Mildred’s memory include her husband; Steven August of the home, sons; Larry L. Adams (Brenda), and Paul R. Adams (Lisa), daughter; Sandra K. Heaton (David) all of Elizabethton, sisters; Geneva Smith of Elizabethton, and Betty Oden of Orlando, Fl., also surviving are a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A receiving of family and friends for Mildred will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Montford Cove Baptist Church Cemetery, 4920 Cove Rd., Union Mills, NC 28167, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Dennis Wilson Officiating.
