Omar Sidebottom

Mr. Omar M. Sidebottom, 93, of Nebo, passed away, Sunday, July 8, 2012, while at Autumn Care of Marion. Born March 13, 1919, in Mason County, IL, he was a son of the late Irwin Sidebottom and Laura Ferne Schoonover Sidebottom. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Charlotte Lucille Sidebottom, a brother, Kenneth Sidebottom and a son-in-law, Carl Orders. Mr. Sidebottom attained a Masters in Engineering and was a professor of Engineering at the University of Illinois.

His memory will be cherished by a son, Tom Sidebottom, of Cedar Rapids, IA;

A daughter, Jill Sidebottom, of Nebo;

A brother, Eldred Sidebottom, of Cope, CO;

Three sisters, Iris Brownrigg, of Rapid City, SD, Mary Turner, of Avon, IL and Vida Harrison, of Mason City, IA;

His memory will also be cherished by his granddaughter, Emma Orders, of Nebo.

Funeral Services will be held graveside, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Glen Alpine Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Reverend Michael Costner officiating. Flowers are appreciated, those desiring to make memorials in Mr. Sidebottom’s memory may do so to the Charity of one’s choice.
