She is preceded in death by her mother, Lena Green; her father, Ernest Thomas; and two sisters,
Ruby Sims and Vernell Sullivan.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Shirley Ann Thomas Coffey; a son, Stephen Lane Thomas (Alma). She was blessed with three grandchildren, Brian Coffey, Lora Coffey and Tabatha
Brown (Troy); as well as, five great grandchildren, Desta’nee Coffey, Meg’Anne Coffey, Makayla O’Neil, Kelton “KJ” Brown II and Kyle Brown.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the Mt. Herman AME Church Cemetery with Pastor George Logan and Pastor Troy Brown Officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening at Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton.
