He was born on October 21, 1951 to the late William Henry Howell and Mary Lou Grigg in Burke County, North Carolina.
Sammy loved watching Nascar races and WWE wrestling.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Howell; two sisters, Mary Patton and Sheila Carden; nieces, Angela Turnmire and Peggy Simmons.
Those left to cherish his memory is his sister, Linda Turnmire; brother-in-laws, Gene Vecchio and Raymond Patton; Nephews, Michael Patton and Jason Howell.
