

Mrs. Sarah Ann Robinson Peterson, age 73, of Morganton, answered the call peacefully from labor to reward of her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 26, 2017, after an extended illness at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Valdese, NC.
Born in Burke County, on June 12, 1943, Sarah was the daughter and second oldest child of the Late Henry Lee and Ruth Largent Robertson, Sr. She was a member of Slade Chapel AME Zion Church where she served an Usher, a member of the Voices of the Chapel Choir, WHOMS Society and a cast member in “the Glory Train Production. Sarah was employed and retired from Broughton Hospital.
Sarah received her early education through the Burke County Public Schools. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to her husband Tommy Peterson for 53 years and was blessed with two daughters.
Along with her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by a daughter, Antoinette Peterson; two brothers, Paul Largent Robinson and Jackie Robinson; and a sister, Daisy Robinson Feaster.
Those left behind to cherish Sarah’s memory include her husband, Tommy Peterson; a daughter, Annazette Peterson Edmondson and her husband Dean; a sister, Mary Robinson Jenkins; and a brother, Henry Lee Robinson, Jr. and his wife Mary, all of Morganton. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a circle of friends.
Sarah will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and love for her husband, family and fellow man. All who knew her well will remember that she loved to dance and was known by the nickname “Shaky Bones”.
