Teresa Lynn Murphy

Teresa Lynn Murphy, age 66, of Morganton went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Treasa was born the daughter of the late CG Murphy and Ola Buff Murphy on March 15, 1957 in Hickory, NC.

Along with her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by a brother, Kerry Murphy.

Those left behind to cherish Teresa's memory include two brothers, John Bumgarner and his wife Ruby of Vale and Bill Murphy and his wife Sherry of Morganton; and two sisters, Amy Murphy of Drexel and Becky Crump and her husband Robert of Morganton. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Teresa was a diehard Duke Blue Devil, Dallas Cowboy, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan. She never met a stranger and had an incredible memory. She could remember every birthday, anniversary and special event date. Teresa attended First Church of God in Morganton before her health failed. For the past six years, Teresa has been a resident of Grace Heights Health and Rehabilitation. She was an independent lady who touched many hearts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 28,2023 at the funeral home. A "Celebration of Teresa's Life" will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R. Richards officiating. Teresa will be laid to rest beside her parents at Burke Memorial Park.
