

ARLIE V. (ROD) LONG, age 68 of Bean Station, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his residence. He was the owner of Long’s Carpet service in Morristown. He was United Stated Marine veteran serving in Vietnam. Mr. Long was a member of Hamblen Lodge #767 Free and Accepted Masons in Morristown. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Knoxville Scottish Rite Masons since December of 2013, a member of Kerbela Temple in Knoxville and Morristown Shrine Club. He was serving as Vice President of Lakeway Area (Hamblen County) Scottish Rite Club and he was very active in the annual Hamblen County Scottish Rite shoe distribution for children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Ruby Frances Long; 2 sisters and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dianne Long; son, Greg Long of Morristown; grandchildren, Brandon Long, Tristen Lovelace and Arissa Belle; step-daughter, Tabitha McGinnis and Rebecca Lovelace; sister, Anne Lee; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. in Long Family cemetery in Bean Station for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.
