

For 61 years, Asilee was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for middle school aged girls. In that role, she offered steady guidance and a sincere example of faith, leaving a lasting imprint on the lives she touched. A gifted cook and baker, she brought warmth to everyday life through the simple, meaningful act of preparing food for others—an enduring expression of attentiveness and generosity that will be long cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Hill and Hazel Austin; brothers: Ledford Austin, Gordon Austin and Leslie Austin; and a sister: Louise Roe.
Asilee is survived by her husband of 68 years, Collis Nelson; sons: Chris Nelson (Tammy) and Todd Nelson (Karen) and her daughter: Natalie Ramirez (Jesse). Three grandchildren: Cody Nelson, Tony Ramirez and Emilee Nelson. Sister: Kate Wynn and brothers: Tom Austin (Carol) and Kyle Austin (Jean) along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services to follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. David Williams officiating. Graveside and interment services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
