Bertha “Renee” Simpson Banks, age 45, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home. She was a member of New Beginnings Ministries in Whitesburg. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie Crowder and Lewis and Bertha Lee Rogers; and nephew, Andrew Kincaid.
Survivors include her parents, Debbie Crowder Simpson and George Simpson Sr.; brothers, George Simpson Jr. and Ronald Simpson; sister, Monica Simpson and Destiny Ezell-Simpson; grandmother, Stella Crowder; special nieces, Octavia, Aisha, Alexis and Olivia; nephews, Hezekiah and Xavier; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends at New Beginnings Ministries on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Washington officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Thursday morning at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers will be: Ronald Simpson, Richard Henry, Walter Simpson, Robert Bogus, Alex McLain and Dewayne Simpson.
