Charles E. Dixon, age 88, of White Pine, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 4, 2013 at MHHS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Dixon; parents, Charles and Dora Dixon; and several half-sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Charles “Heavy” Dixon, Jr. of White Pine, Charles Alger “Burger” Dixon of Daytona, FL; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and James E. “Jim” Thompson of Morristown, Pat and James T. Garrett of Morristown; grandchildren, Melissa B. Thompson of Bean Station, Debra Yvonne Taylor of Knoxville, Amanda Sturgill of Maryland, Jason and April Sturgill of Dandridge; great-grandchildren, Justin Kingsbury of Knoxville, Shanteen Kingsbury of Knoxville, Ethan Sturgill of Dandridge; and great-great-granddaughter, Jemma Kingsbury of Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Robinson and Rev. James Garrett will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Monday in Carter Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening prior to the service.
