Hazel Irene Johnson

Hazel Irene Martin Johnson, age 86, passed away April 27, 2011 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was born July 1, 1924. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Broten J. (Jake) Johnson; her parents, Ease Martin and Sarah Martin Johnson; brothers, Earl, Roy and James “jimmy” Martin; sisters, Euna Mullins and Nettie Marie Martin.

She is survived by son, Terry (Beki) Johnson; daughters, Judy Long and Joyce (Ken) Turner all of Morristown. Grandsons, David (Angela) Norton, Scott (Amanda) Johnson, Shane Long, Josh (Kelli) Long, Andy (Beki) Turner and Brian Turner. Great grandsons, Billy Norton, Conner Johnson and Donovan Long. Brother, John (Pearl) Martin; sisters, Erma McGinnis, Edria (Paul) Humphrey all of Morristown, Evelyn (Ron) Campbell of Sneedville, TN. Aunt, Thelma Fields of Bean Station. Several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation for the staff at Lakeway Regional Hospital and for the special care that was given by Amedisys hospice caregivers Christine Williams, Earlene Townley and others. We also want to thank Dr. David Walker and his staff for their kindness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
