Jack Harrell Short, age 86, of Mooresburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was saved at a young age and was a member of Slate Hill Baptist Church. He was a farmer for many years and he enjoyed wood-working and flea marketing.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother: Robert Short; parents: Clay and Hannah Short and brothers: Otis, Roy, Lester, Bill and Roger Short; sisters: Brenda Carpenter, Thelma "Sis" Klepper, Betty Purkey; his wife of 65 years: Barbara Short and his son: Henry Short.
He was survived by his sisters: Wanda Greene and Lillie (J.L.) Leonard. Jack leaves behind his children: Melinda (Richard) Brooks, Ashley Short, Jeffery (Jenifer) Short, and Greg Short; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
Receiving of Family and Friends will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm with the Funeral to follow at 7pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 1pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Services will be officiated by Rev. Roger Trent and Rev. Bill Johnson with music provided by Jeremy Raley. Pallbearers will be Brandon Short, Bradley Short, Mike Engle, Greg Short, Josh Short, and Jared Short.
