James Allen “Jay” Ison, age 66, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2013 at his residence. He was a member of Friendsview Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Murrell and Irene Ison; and father and mother-in-law, Carl and Nancy Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lois Ison; brother, Roleigh Ison; sisters, Sharlynn Ison and Diana Ison; many in-laws; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Heatherly, Rev. Jeff Broyles, and Rev. David Marshall officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:50 a.m. in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Friday morning for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening prior to the services at the funeral home. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
