John “Papa John” Prew, age 63, of Rutledge, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his residence. He was a member of Rutledge United Methodist Church. Papa John was an avid Citizen’s Band radio user and a member of the Mountaineer CB Club. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette Prew. Survivors include his siblings, Michelle Kollias, Charles Prew, James (Jean) Prew, Eileen Talley, Kerry Jean Learn, and Devon Prew; eight nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Caesar. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Rutledge United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Stubblefield Funeral Home.
