On Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026 at the age of 80, William gained his heavenly wings and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley; daughter: April Lynn; father: Woody Bevens and mother: Laura Ruggles; brother: Fielden Bevens and son-in-law: Morgan Morris.
William is survived by daughter: Lauri Mullins of Knoxville, TN; son: Michael Bevens of London, KY; daughter: Victoria Morris of Mineola, TX and son: Mark (Christy) Bevens of Mooresburg, TN. Brothers: Brad Ruggles of Hudson, MI; Larry and Rick Ruggles. 9 grandkids and 10 and great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and many other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 with Rev. Jerry Sexton officiating. Burial to follow in Haven of Rest Cemetery in Mooresburg.
