Donald F. Sawyer

Don joined the Army and upon his return he met the love of his life, Yvonne Hackney. They were married on July 25, 1954 and soon started a family.

Don worked as a logger for many years before retiring. Don loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed traveling in his motor home to the beach for clam digging. Don also enjoyed playing cribbage, picking huckleberries and mushrooms, gardening and tending his bees.

His wife Yvonne, brother Ralph Sawyer, sisters Beatrice Hanger and Milly Hamrich, precede Don in death.

Don is survived by his daughter Shirley Hagg (Bill), son Gerald Sawyer (Nancy), grandchildren Angie, Shanna and Ryan Sawyer, and Alec Haag, one great-grandchild Aaron McNew. Sisters May Gregory and Dorothy Pries (Elmer) as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

We love you Dad & Papa. We will hold you close to our hearts until we meet again.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 1 p.m., at the Assembly of God Church in Packwood, WA. Immediate family at Graveside. Reception following service
