

Eddie Bowen was born February 19, 1919, in Glenoma. He passed away at the Morton Hospital January 6, 2016, from complications of a broken hip. He was a month short of his 97th birthday. Eddie was preceded In death by his wife, Lois Dunn Bowen; his two sons Jere and Dean Bowen, his mother Edith
Coleman Lewis, his father Ed Bowen, and his siblings: Beulah, Bill, Albert, and Don, and his great grandchild Tavaris, He is survived by his sisters Connie and Wilma, and his daughters Susie "Tom" Lyle and Tami Hickle and his daughters-in-law Patti and Alice Bowen. He is survived by his grandchildren:
Ginger, Janet, Rich, Michelle, Steve, Tawni and 18 great grandchildren.
He loved the woods and operated a “gypo" logging business for over 70 years. His last job was completed just three years ago.
He especially loved kids - all kids. He spent many hours in the woods with his grand kids, fishing, hunting, and just looking for wildlife. He took It upon himself to make sure the neighborhood kids were well supplied with candy, and everyone he knew received a pocket knife and a nick name. He loved animals and always had special cats and dogs.
He was always helping out others in the community: a load of wood, a few dollars, a "mess' of fish -all done quietly, behind the scenes.
In later years, he had fun going to yard sales.
A memorial is scheduled for January 16, at the Randle Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m.
The family is requesting no flowers, remembrances can be made to the Randle Food Bank.
