

Margaret Jean Mitchem, 84, of Mossyrock, Washington, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Morton General Hospital. She was born on March 20, 1930 to George and Marjorie Myers in Sumner, Washington. Margaret graduated from Mossyrock High School in 1948. On April 21, 1948, she married the love of her life, William “Bump” Mitchem, in Mossyrock, and together they raised four children, Doug, Danny, Gary, and Judy. Margaret devoted her life to caring for her family; and was a member of the Richland Valley Church of the Brethren and the Mossyrock Grange. She enjoyed being outdoors, going on walks, gardening and watching birds. Margaret loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s high school sporting events; she was also an avid Mariners and Seahawks fan. Margaret adored her cats and fish, but above all else she treasured spending time with her family.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Bernerd, Alfred, Melvin, and Jerry, and her grandson, Brandon. She is survived by her sons, Doug (Connie) Mitchem of Centralia, Washington, Danny Mitchem, Gary Mitchem, and daughter, Judy (Gale) Bridges, all of Mossyrock, Washington, 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brothers, Max (Karen) Myers of Port Angeles, Washington, Darell Myers of Kent, Washington, and sister, Marilyn (Ed) Armit of Mossyrock, Washington.
