Richard Orvin Christianson was born January 23, 1952 at Morton Hospital to Orvin and Helen Christianson. Living in Mineral, Richard attended Morton High School where he played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. He later coached football at Morton High, leading the team to win the state championship.
Richard followed in his dad's footsteps, working his first job at St. Regis Company digging firetrails. Richard later started work with Lewis County PUD, working as a lineman for 19 years. He then moved to Sequim, working for Clallam County for 20 years before retiring at age 70. In his spare time Richard enjoyed woodworking, which he taught himself, and made many projects over the years.
Richard enjoyed going on adventures with his wife, Jackie Eaton, traveling over the western states. They saw many sights and enjoyed the best food- hamburgers being a favorite. They took a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, and even landed on a mile high butte. Richard had a good life, and had no regrets.
Richard is survived by his wife Jacqueline Eaton; mom Dolly Christianson; daughters Lindsey (Tony) Elliott and Melanie Sluder; sister Julie Schiro; nieces, nephew, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Richard asks contributions be made in his name to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, 829 E. 8th Street, Port Angeles, Washington.
