Carrie Duplantis, 87, daughter of the late Gus “Skipper” and Vida Stitzlein passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Moss Bluff for many years. Carrie was a member of “Young At Heart” and also volunteered for the church thrift store. Carrie also loved playing solitaire and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed attending Hixson’s LIFT programs.
She is survived by her three sons, David S. Duplantis and wife Lovisa of Richmond, TX, Steven C. Duplantis of Lake Charles and Douglas G. Duplantis of Baton Rouge, brother, Gus H. Stitzlein Jr. and wife Peggy of Moss Bluff and a sister, B. Joan Stitzlein also of Moss Bluff, six grandchildren, Scott, Carrie, Krissie, Dallas Duplantis, Jessica, Jeff Smith, along with nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford “C.J.” Duplantis, a son, Richard D. “Dickie” Duplantis, one daughter, Julie Ann Smith, one brother, Bennie Stitzlein, along with a sister, Goldie Ardoin, and three grandchildren, Wilson, Austin, and Brady Duplantis.
Services will be held at 1:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Thursday, June 23, 2016 with Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux doing the celebration of life. Visitation will be held at Hixson Moss Bluff on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm and will resume on Thursday from 11:00am until the time of the service.
