

He was born on December 27, 1932 in Duluth, MN to Bernard and Myrtle Moss Meier. Kenneth married the love of his life, Rae Gault on June 7, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wrenshall, MN. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. In 1982 he moved from Wrenshall, MN to Moss Bluff. Kenneth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lake Charles. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Kenneth retired from Conoco and was a Hunters Safety Instructor. He was a member of the VFW Post 9933 where he served on the Military Honor Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion and was a life member of the NRA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rae Gault Meier; sons, Craig Meier and wife Deborah of Rutledge, GA, Scott Meier and wife Kimberlee of Mahtowa, MN and Stephan Meier and wife Tammy of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Nicole Rape and husband Travis of Rutledge, GA, Benjamin Meier of Rutledge, GA, Ashlee and Emma Meier of Mahtowa, MN, and Mason and Myles Meier of Moss Bluff; and his loving pet, Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Myrtle Meier; and granddaughter, Megan Meier.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Visitation will resume Monday from noon until service time at 1p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Lake Charles. The Reverend Charles Miller will officiate. Burial will be at New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. A reception is to follow after services at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
