He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. Roy was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Gateway Church. He loved spending time with his grandkids and riding his Harley.
Survivors include one son, Jason Chapman; one daughter, Jacqueline Franklin and husband, Kelvin; three brothers, Mark Broussard, Aaron Goodman and Tim Ash; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Davidson Chapman; his parents, Roy Chapman, Sr. and Joyce Hasha Chapman; and one son, Jacob Chapman.
His funeral will be at 11a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Pastor Richard Watson will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
