I remember Bill and then Gretchen presiding over many visitations at Carothers Funeral Home for many years. Of course her sisters were wonderful, dedicated teachers in Stanley for many years. She was one of a Stanley family that made Stanley the "Friendly Place" it was back when I was growing up there.

Rest in peace Gretchen, you were a special treasure to Stanley.

Dear Betsey,
I know we already spoke on Saturday already, but I just wanted to tell you how much Gretchen will be missed. She was such a wonderful lady and always so good to me. I have such fond memories of growing up across the street from your family. I am thankful for having known her and that she lived such a long and full life. Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
