Janet Marie Koons

Janet Marie Koons, 73, Muncie, passed away Monday evening, September 9, 2019, at her residence. She was born Wednesday, June 5, 1946, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Luella (Jenkins) Brown. Janet attended Muncie schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1964 and from Ivy Tech in 1987. Janet worked at Hoosier Pete for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing pool and watching movies. Survivors include sons, Myron (wife, Kim Hyde) Koons, and Mark (wife, Tammy) Koons; daughter, Tonya (companion, Gary Campbell) Bilbrey; five grandchildren, Kevin (wife, Rachel) Koons, Martha (husband, Steve) Thompson-Koons, Cody Hord, Darien (wife, Stacie) Koons, and Ashley Koons; brother, Jack Davis; sister, Myrna Schultz; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dad, Fred Brown; mom, Luella Davis Brown; brother, Bud Davis; and sisters, Patricia Smith, and Carolyn Priddy. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019, at Elm Ridge Memorial Park with burial to follow. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday at the graveside. Arrangements have been entrusted to Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
