She was born September 21, 1931 in Muncie to Mornay and May (Walker) Jones.
Janet had worked for the Anderson Community Schools and the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home in Knightstown. Also, she had attended Real Estate School and Indiana Business College.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and singing in a quartet with her sisters.
Janet is survived by her sons, Bruce (Cathy) Sutton and Kent (Jan) Sutton; sisters, Jean Hoffman and Sarah Wingate; grandchildren, Linnae Sutton, Ryan Sutton, Matt Sutton,and Karly (Chase) Warner; great-grandchildren, Aaron Sutton, Alison Sutton, and Hadley Warner; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judith Durham; brother, Joseph Jones; former husbands, Don Sutton and Keith Nixon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Phillip Rogers officiating.
Burial will take place at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
