

She was born in Amherstdale, West Virginia, on Thursday, December 9, 1943, the daughter of Millard and Goldie (Miller) Bellomy. She came to Muncie, Indiana, as a teenager and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1962. Joan married Roger Cook Sr. on November 23, 1963, and they shared fifty-six years together.
Joan and Roger raised a family of four, and traveled many years with the carnival circuit. Family was very important to her, and her children and grandchildren were her world. She was very selfless and generous to not only her family, but to others as well. She loved family gatherings where everyone came together to enjoy a meal and laughter. She loved sewing, reading, and Alan Jackson’s music. Joan passed down her Alan Jackson collection to her great-grandson. She will be deeply missed by all.
Joan is survived by; daughters, Maria Renee (Jason) Good, Linda (Rick) Beckman and Wilma (Bruce) Carrier; grandchildren, JoAnna (Brent) Lynn, Leann (Zack) Panacek, Tanya (Kyle) Keller, Taryn (Jeremy) McKnight, Mason (Jessica) Good and Myles Good; great-grandchildren, Zachary Panacek, Logan Panacek, Ava Panacek, Wyatt Lynn, Sebastian Keller, Annistyn Lynn, Victoria Good, Eliana Keller, Briar McKnight, and Alaya Good; brothers, Lacy (Suzanne) Bellomy, and Robert (Sheila) Bellomy; a sister, Wilma Smith; a sister-in-law, Judy Bellomy; a host of nieces and nephews and a family dog named
Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Cook Sr; her son, Roger Cook Jr.; her parents, Millard and Goldie Bellomy; brothers, Jennis Bellomy, Alfred Bellomy, Danny Kyle Bellomy, and Millard Bellomy Jr.; sisters, Marie Bellomy, and Helen Johnson.
The family would like to thank Shirley McGuire, neighbor and friend, for coming over to help out daily for months; Val, hospice nurse with Kindred Hospice; caregiver, Sheila Hayden, with Help at Home, who became more like family. And Wally, a physical therapist from United Home Healthcare. Their kindness, compassion and help were so generously given and very appreciated by the family.
As per Joan’s wishes, cremation will take place. A private family Celebration of Life is being planned in the near future. The family will take Roger Sr., Joan, and Roger Jr. to the family homestead in West Virginia to their final resting place in the Spring of 2022.
