Patricia Lou Ashcraft

She was born April 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Grant May and Mary (Fortney) May. Patricia was a long-time member of Riverside United Methodist Church where she was a part of Caring Friends. She was an active member in her sorority, Phi Beta Psi (Theta Psi Chapter), for over fifty years. In Patricia’s free time, she was with her family and friends and loved to shop. More than anything, Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include her son Joseph (Susan) Ashcraft; daughter, Debbie (Greg) Flood; grandchildren, Brian (Natalie) Flood of Ohio, Kari (Ben) Matthews of Illinois, Chad (Rachel) Ashcraft of Indianapolis, and Whitney (Joe) Faires of Carmel; great-grandchildren, Jacob (Nicolette) Flood, Joshua Flood, Hannah Matthews, Lily Matthews, Ainsley Matthews, Drake Ashcraft, Leo Ashcraft, Olivia Faires, and Jack Faires; brother-in-laws, Robert (Janet) Ashcraft and James (Joanne) Ashcraft; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was looking forward to being a great-great-grandmother in December.

She was preceded in death by her parents Grant May and Mary (Fortney) May; her loving husband of 59 years, William Ashcraft; sisters, Martha Walburn, Jayne Blanchard, Sally Naylor; a brother, Ted May; a brother-in-law, Herb Ashcraft; and sister-in-laws, Dorothy Edgar, and Betti Ashcraft.

The family wants to extend a special thanks to St. Vincent Compasses Hospice Center for their wonderful care in her final days.

Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana.

Services will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Brian Flood will officiate. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are required.
