

Patricia Ann (Blair) White-Evans-Astemborski-Dale passed into her new life on July 28, 2024. She was born in Masury, Ohio on January 7, 1931, the daughter of William W. and Ann E. (Cannetti) Blair. In 1953 she moved to Sharon, Pennsylvania and in 1973, she, with her husband Dale White and their 8 children relocated to Muncie.
Pat graduated from Villa Maria Academy in Pennsylvania, attended Ursuline College for Women in Cleveland, Ohio, attended Youngstown University in Youngstown, Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from Ball State University in 1980, where she was inducted in the Gold Key International Honor Society.
While residing in Pennsylvania, Pat served as choir director and an organist at St. Bernadette’s Church in Ohio and then at Notre Dame Church in Sharon, Pennsylvania. While completing her degree at Ball State, she worked for a period of time as writer/editor for Insight Unlimited, a child development early assessment of learning disabilities program. Upon graduation, she taught in the Muncie Community Schools from 1980 to 1998. She then worked at the Youth Service Bureau (YOC) as a reading consultant for two years.
Pat was a devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Over the years she was also a member of St. Mary and St. Lawrence. She served as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion and served on the Liturgical Committee and Prison Ministry for many years. She participated in Birthright and Association for Children with Learning Disabilities, co-founding a county chapter in Pennsylvania. She was also involved in Council for Exceptional Children, Indiana Teacher’s Association, Teamwork for Quality Living and volunteered at Soup Kitchen of Muncie.
Pat loved traveling, canoeing, music, gardening, teaching and reading but most of all she loved spending time with her beloved family and her extended family and hosting friend gatherings.
She was predeceased by her children’s father, Dale White, her 2nd husband, Darwin Evans, her 3rd husband, George Astemborski and her 4th husband, R. David Dale, her parents, her beloved daughters, Mary Margaret White and Annette Miller, her brother John (Jack) Blair and her stepmother Margaret Blair.
She is survived by her children, David W. White (Diane Kebabjian), Catherine P Snider (Lee), William D. White (Marisa), Eileen M. Mattox (Gavin Caddick), Thomas E. White, Kevin M. White (Maryna), son-in-law Christopher F. Mattox, grandchildren Wendy Bellar (Rick), Lisa Summers (Mike), Stephanie Nicol (Geoff), Anne Adams (Jason), Kris Hamilton (Brendan), Ryan Mattox, Rachael Coers, Michael Mattox (Jing) Teresa Proctor (Brooks), Ashley England (Matt), Katelynn Coad (Danny), Taylor White, Karl Miller, Oliver White, Michael White, Daniel White and Katrina White, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren as well as her stepchildren and grandchildren.
Pat is also survived by her brother William Blair, her stepbrother, Ed Manassah (Sallie) and their families.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1200 West Riverside Avenue, Muncie, Indiana.
Friends may call at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie 47304 on Thursday, August 1 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. or at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Friday, August 2, 11a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
