Ronald E. Kinder

Ronald Eugene Kinder, 78, of Muncie, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at home. He was born in Centerville, Indiana, on Friday, January 8, 1943, the son of Charles and Helen Kinder. He went to Centerville High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.

Ron moved to Muncie where he met Sharon Knollman. They married in 1979 and shared thirty-six years together. He was a Tool Maker and was very proud of that. Ron also owned several businesses over his life, including an ice cream shop and a sign shop.

Ron enjoyed bowling, computers, and making peanut brittle at the ice cream shop. He loved coaching his sons in basketball and baseball, and going on vacations and cruises. His granddaughters were his pride and joy.

Ron is survived by his sons, Shayne (Ashley) Kinder, Jeff (Laura) Kinder, Greg (Donna) Kinder, and Chris Watts; a brother, John (Pamela) Kinder; grandchildren, Carson Kinder, Jaycob Kinder, Madison Kinder, Eastyn Kinder, and Oaklyn Kinder; and lots of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, Charles and Helen Kinder; parents-in-law, Elmer “Bud” and Mary Knollman; and a brother, Steve Kinder.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Services will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Rusty Clements will officiate. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks are required as well as social distancing.
