Steven Anthony Thomas

Steven Anthony “Tony” Thomas, 53, Muncie, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at his home. He was born Monday, August 28, 1967, in Landstuhl, Germany, the son of John W. and Marjorie Jean (Denney) Thomas. Tony was a very loyal man, to his family and to his friends. He was always there for you if you needed something. He had a wicked sense of humor and a quick wit. Tony loved sports and was an avid Colts and NASCAR fan. He worked as a correctional officer. Tony honorably served his country in the United States Army. Survivors include his mom, Marjorie Jean Thomas; sons, Patrick Thomas, and Steven (wife, Amy) Thomas; brothers, Brian (wife, Katherine) Thomas, and Mike (wife, Brandi) Thomas; sister, Cathy Thomas; aunt, Jenney (husband, Mike) Voke; cousins, Mindy (husband, Travis) Bassett, Trevor Bassett, Brianna Bassett, Kevin (wife, Jenni) Voke, and Abby Voke; grandson, Carter Thomas; nephew, Felix Thomas and his canine companion, Wrigley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Omer and Marjorie Denney; his dad, John W. Thomas; and his sister, Robin Thomas. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Bruce Reynolds officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Private burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
