Wilma Dean Criswell

Wilma Dean (Stephens) Criswell, 79, of Muncie, gained her wings on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born in Stearns, Kentucky, on December 12, 1941, the daughter of Sidney and Elva (Heath) Stephens.

Wilma was the kind of mother everyone loved. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and keeping an immaculate house. She loved the outdoors, walking in the woods, and sitting on the porch. She loved rummage sales and a good bargain. Wilma had a green thumb, and loved flowers and gardening. Wilma loved her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much. Her nieces and nephews thought the world of her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Wilma is survived by her loving children, Ronnie Lee Criswell, Kimberly Davis, Donna (Walter) Wilson, Pamela Davis, and Patricia (Bradley Moore) McCreery; a sister, Lorene Richardson; grandchildren, Steven Spradlin, Michael Spradlin, David McLaughlin, Kristy Moore, Brittany Salvidge, Leigha McQueen, Sidney Wilson, Devin McCreery, Destiny Dennie, Caleb McCreery, and Ariana McCreery; thirteen great-grandchildren and three on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Elva Stephens; five brothers and one sister.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Services will be on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Jaco will officiate. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks are required as well as social distancing.
