Gretchen adored her husband, Jody McArdle, whose passing in 2020 preceded hers. Throughout their marriage of 50 years together, she was impressed by his natural curiosity, his intuition, and his boyishness.
She is survived by her son, Brett McArdle, her daughter-in-law, Kaiya Monk McArdle, her grandson, Matthew McArdle, and her granddaughter, Alex McArdle, all living in Murfreesboro, Tenn. She is also survived by her sister, Gayle Millner, of Winter Haven, Fla., and nephews David Smith of Senles, France, Scott Smith of Winter Haven, Fla., and Linda Lacourse of Winter Haven, Fla.
