Matthew “Dylan” Taylor, age 30, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on May 30, 2023 at his home. He is survived by his son, Ryder C. Taylor; father, Matthew Taylor; mother, Lisa Taylor; brother Jessee Taylor; grandparents, John and Cathern Taylor, Jr; aunts, Cindy Oldham and Amie Taylor; and niece, Mila B. Taylor. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles Smithson and Shirley Powell. Graveside service will be at Three O’clock the afternoon of Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with visitation from Two O’clock until Three O’clock also on Thursday at Roselawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Matt as his friends knew him and Dylan as his family called him, loved his family and friends. He graduated from Smyrna high school in 2010. His hobbies were fishing and hunting, cars, motorcycles, watching sports, camping, going to the lake and hanging out at his mom’s pool with friends and family.
He raced motorcycles with his father and brother on the GNCC circuit for many years and was ranked in the top 10.
Dylan’s “Pop Warner” football team won a Tennessee state championship and played for the national championship in Charlotte NC ending up 3rd in the nation.
He worked at his father’s machine shop manufacturing rifle barrels and became a very good CNC machine operator and mechanic.
He could light up any room with his smile.
