David Maxwell Fertick, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on March 8, 1948, in the city of Washington, D.C., David's life was one that touched so many family and friends.
David's love for music was evident from an early age, and it remained a central theme throughout his life. Whether he was listening to Queen, playing his horns, or arguing that rap isn’t music, his enthusiasm was infectious. His appreciation for music enriched the lives of those around him. In fact, music is how he met his wife, Linda, and the reason all his children and grandchildren are here today.
David was a devout Washington fan, passionately cheering on the Caps, Nats and Wizards, and mostly just screaming at the Redskins (Don’t dare call them the Commanders).
Above all else, David cherished his family. He was a loving husband to Linda, and a devoted father to their children, Justin, Andy, Ryan, and Kristi. But his greatest joy came from his role as a grandfather. He adored his grandchildren, Taylor, Raiden, and Summer, showering them with love, affection, silly faces and noises, and endless laughter.
Rest in peace, David. Your warm smile, kind heart, and sense of humor will be remembered. You will be deeply missed by your family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing you.
