A memorial service for Carson Kreed Bowman will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel officiated by Rev. Lorraine Brown. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Carson was born October 1, 1980, in Lufkin, Texas to parents Jolyon K. Bowman and Judy Clifton Bowman Pitts. He died August 30, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Carson is survived by his only son, Bryson Kreed Bowman-Drury; step-father, Milton Pitts; aunt, June Clifton Price and husband Mike; and mother of his son, Lauri Masten Drury, all of Nacogdoches. Also surviving are his cousin, Jason Burge of Fort Worth; father, Jolyon K. Bowman and wife Kay of Tyler; three half-brothers, William, Benjamin, and Samuel Bowman, all of Tyler; and a host of relatives and friends that meant the world to Carson.
He was preceded in death by his very special mother, Judy Bowman-Pitts; maternal grandparents, W.T. and beloved Alma “Granny” Clifton; uncle, Neal Clifton; aunt, Patti Clifton-Tommie; and paternal grandparents, Joel Kreed Bowman and Mary Dickerson-Bowman of Bowmantown, Tennessee.
After graduating from Nacogdoches High School in 1999, he attended Angelina College briefly and the transferred to UT in Arlington, Texas.
He worked at various jobs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He set up sound systems for bands and enjoyed bartending. Above all, Carson was an avid sports fan and kept up with the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys since he was knee high to a grasshopper.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Bryson Bowman-Drury Education Fund at CBTX (215 E. Main Street, Nacogdoches, TX 75961) or to a charity of your choice.
