Edith Anne Williams Griswold, 81, of Houston, went to her heavenly home, on April 17, 2020. Edith was born June 25, 1938, in Dallas, Texas to Willie Faye Tucker and J.D. Williams. She was the oldest of three children and grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas. She married Charles Griswold on June 7, 1957. Edith and Charles were married for 59 years and raised 4 children together. Edith's family was raised on faith, she loved the Lord, and was an active member of her church.
Edith is survived by her son, Charles Griswold Jr. and his wife Joyce; son, Gene Griswold and wife Janet; daughter, Lisa Fleming; her 6 grandchildren: Melinda Reese and husband Derek, Jennifer Griswold, Johnathan Fleming, Kelsey Griswold, Jessica Griswold, and Emily Fleming; her great-grandson, Elliott Reese; her sister, Susie Martin and husband Tommie Martin; her brother-in-law, David Griswold; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Edith in death, her loving husband, Charles Griswold; son, Kevin Griswold; parents, J.D. & Faye Williams; brother, J.D. Williams II; brother-in-law Terry Collier; nephew Scott Keaton; and sister-in-law’s, Sue Griswold and Dolores Bass.
She will be greatly missed, by family and friends, but they know Edith loved the Lord and is rejoicing in his presence.
A private family interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches, Texas.
