Hunter Franklin Garrison, 78, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in Houston, Texas, after a brave five year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Hunter was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 28, 1931 and was raised in Garrison, Texas.
After serving in the Korean War, he obtained his civil engineering degree from the University of Houston.
He started his career with the Texas Department of Transportation and retired after 28 years as the District Maintenance Engineer for the Greater Houston Area. He then worked ten years for Turner, Collie and Braden.
He is predeceased by his parents Neil “Red” and Bonnie Hunter Garrison and his sister, Neil Simpson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Williams Garrison, children Brenda Garrison White and husband Jim, and Michael H. Garrison and wife Toni. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kelsey Lynn Garrison and Connor James Garrison

Hunter was a member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church for over forty years. His passion was his family and his East Texas roots. He was an avid golfer.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery in Garrison, Texas and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00 am at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home in Bellaire, Texas.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the charity of your choice.
