

Larry Glen Havenhill, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of March 31, 2026. He was born on April 3, 1944, in Pampa, Texas, to Harry and Margaret (Burnham) Havenhill. He married Judy Gordon on September 5, 1964, in Pampa, Texas. Larry proudly served his country as a Finance Officer in the US Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran and traveled extensively, with duty stations that included Panama; Fort Hood,TX; West Berlin, Germany; and Fort Meade, MD. After his Army service of 20 years, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and was the President of Fort Hood National Bank for many years. When he left the bank, he moved to Suwanee, GA, where he started a construction company building custom decks. He was an active member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a faithful Christian and a member of First Redeemer Church of Cumming, GA for 25 years. He loved to work outside, fix things around the house, and watch his grandkids’ activities.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; their children, Dr. Timothy Havenhill and his wife, Shannon; and Dr. Kimberly Welsh, and her husband, Robert; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Bryce (Karen), Emma, Hudson (Anyssa), Hope, Parker, Ben (Madi), and Abbie (Cole); great grandchildren Zyréia and Levi; brother Max and sister-in-law Janet; and identical twin brother Gary and sister-in-law Patsy.

Graveside services will be at the Dallas Fort Worth National Veterans Cemetery on April 6, 2026.
