Leshia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known as “Bee” to her grandchildren and she enjoyed spending time with them. Leshia loved her pets, especially her many dogs (Bilbo, Pepper, Floss, Smokey and Jo). She also loved birds and gardening. Leshia always saw the good in others and made a point to lift others up, she always tried her best, and kept an open heart despite her many life challenges. She was her best self when taking care of kids. Leshia enjoyed her Diet Dr. Pepper’s and Zumba.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Steven Reid; children, daughter, Nicole (Smith) Thurston Hummel and husband Matthew of Boise, ID; son, Jonathan Reid and wife Erin of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Reid Thurston, Thomas Thurston, Annie Thurston, Ella Hummel, Anna Hummel, Olivia Hummel, Cleo Hummel, Draper Reid and Gus Reid; sister, Penney Luttrell of Washington, MO; sister-in-law, Debbie Reid of Lufkin, TX; nieces, Katelyn Bennett and family of Washington, MO, and Amanda Martinez and family of Lufkin, TX; and her dog Roscoe. Preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Carolyn (Stevens) Gill; father-in-law, Lowell Reid; brother-in-law, Mike Reid.
A celebration of life service will be held, 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2019, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Friends and family are invited to a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Saturday, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
